What's your favourite on-screen home, and how would you recreate the look on a budget?
‘I’m completely hooked on the interiors in Love Story, the mini-series about Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy and JFK Jr. They’re the perfect example of “quiet luxury”, that soft, minimalist look that feels so right for how we want to live now. Everything is understated, built on a neutral base, with simple statement pieces and beautiful layered textures that bring warmth without the fuss. Clean lines, modern but inviting.’
Karen's rules for designer style on a budget
1) Pick a colour palette and stick to it
If you keep it tonal and layered, you'll be amazed at the difference!
2) Declutter, and edit back
When you give your best pieces room to breathe, everything instantly looks more expensive. That's the secret behind professional interior designed spaces: they know what to leave out.
3) Invest in the finishing touches
Accessories that can add that luxe edge without breaking the bank, and a great statement light is my go-to. It can completely transform a room.
