Just ask Jillian Elliott, House Beautiful’s editorial assistant, who found her bed from the most unlikely of places: TikTok Shop. Even though her algorithm was selling her hard on Novilla’s Bliss Queen Size Mattress, she was admittedly a little hesitant about buying a mattress through social media.
“I didn't consider it, because who would buy a mattress from TikTok Shop?” she tells House Beautiful. “Then, I looked at what the typical mattress prices have risen to and quickly reconsidered.”
You see, most mattresses hover in the four digits, but Elliott only paid $299 for this queen-sized mattress. Yes, that’s cheaper than some bougie bed sheets! Some might fear spending so little on a mattress will result in sleepless nights or an aching back, but to Elliott’s pleasant surprise, this brand is a good bang for her buck.
The magic behind this pick lies in the three layers of foam, which work together to relieve pressure, support proper spinal alignment, and reduce motion transfer so you won’t wake up every time your bed buddy does. It’s even certified by the American Chiropractor Association so you (and your back) will have some peace of mind. The soft-yet-supportive fill is accompanied by an anti-slip base and a knitted cover for a plush feel.
Since it arrives vacuum-sealed in a “manageably-sized box,” setting this up in your bedroom is surprisingly easy. “I was initially unsure if it would expand fully,” she adds. “But, within 12 hours, it looked great.”
Elliott has only been sleeping on this mattress for a month, but she has been pleasantly surprised by her restful nights so far. “I am a side sleeper, and have had no issues or discomfort with this mattress,” she says. “I expected it to be overly firm and uncomfortable, but it has a good amount of give to it while still offering support.”
Her only complaint is that she runs a little warm, but says you can always pick up a cooling layer. When you factor in just how cheap this mattress is, a cooling topper can very well fit nicely in your budget.
Let’s not compare apples to oranges: Elliott’s aware there are probably better (and more expensive) mattresses out there. However, if you’re looking for a comfortable option that punches above its price point, Novilla’s Bliss model delivers.
