“No one really likes overhead bathroom lighting—it’s all about how the light hits your face in those moments,” Lewis says. “I’m way more into using a table lamp instead. It sits right at eye level, so the light hits your face straight on and gives you that nice, confident glow.”
No longer reserved just for the living room, tabletop lamps can also bring a more intimate atmosphere to other unexpected places of the home, like a kitchen island. For bathroom placement, you’ll just want to be thoughtful of the base’s material—something made of metal may rust in a humid environment. “I often gravitate toward larger-scale table lamps—they offer room to play and be creative, and can be a statement piece within themselves. I’m especially drawn to oversized lamps in bathrooms or on bedside tables for a really pretty glow,” Lewis says.
