2 min readEvery time there’s a Lulu and Georgia collaboration, I feel the need to shout it from the rooftops, and one of the most highly anticipated ones is finally here: Ginny Macdonald’s “On Holiday” drop, which marks the British interior designer’s third collab with the brand.
For this new lineup, Macdonald, who resides in Los Angeles, designed furniture and decor that taps into both her British heritage and Californian lifestyle. You’ll find sofas, accent chairs, and even nightstands that offer a romantic nod to British country living via patterns and skirts, paired with a California sensibility and ease in the wood tones.
Macdonald told me that she wanted to continue exploring details like a turned leg, which was an element shoppers responded to in her Topia collection.
“At the same time, I was excited to introduce a completely new style of turning, along with new silhouettes like the demi-lune console, which brings a softer, more rounded shape to the collection,” she adds. “I also expanded into new categories, including lighting, which felt like a natural next step.”
As for the color palette, the designer stuck with the colors she’s always been drawn to, leaning into reds, greens, and blues without consciously trying to create an overt British or American palette. She wanted the shades to feel timeless and work well together. We think she’s accomplished that brilliantly.

For those who dream of visiting the Cotswolds or are keen to draw design inspiration from British interiors, the pieces in the designer’s collab will certainly help you get that feel, but Macdonald also says don’t be afraid to inject your own POV into the picture.
“British country living, to me, is less about a specific look and more about a feeling. It’s about homes with character and a mix of styles that have been layered and shaped over time,” she says. “Nothing feels too perfect or too new, and every piece feels as though it has a story or a sense of history behind it, whether it’s been passed down through a family or discovered in an antique shop or at a local market. The most inviting spaces are often the ones that look collected rather than decorated all at once.”
Macdonald notes that British homes have long embraced a certain informality too, where antiques sit comfortably alongside contemporary pieces, and character is valued over perfection—this is an interiors trend she is seeing more Americans adopting nowadays. “They are drawn to this approach because it creates spaces that feel warmer, more personal, and ultimately more timeless,” she adds.
